Why I never spend a lot of money on facial toners

I had an esthetician once tell me to never spend a lot of money on facial toners. She said witch hazel is the best toner on the market and I could get it at my local pharmacy or grocery store for like $6 (give or take)!

Witch hazel is a natural astringent that can help tighten and tone the skin. It can also reduce inflammation, soothe irritation, and fight acne-causing bacteria. Additionally, witch hazel can help reduce the appearance of pores and control oil production, making it a great option for those with oily or combination skin.

I use a facial toner after cleansing my skin. I pour the witch hazel onto a cotton ball or pad and then sweep it over my face. Toners help to remove any remaining traces of dirt, oil, or makeup that may have been missed during cleansing, leaving your skin feeling fresh and clean. It is especially satisfying when you can see the excess dirt on the cotton pad after you tone your face with it! I will then complete my skincare routine with my serum, moisturizer, sunscreen, makeup. I tone my face twice a day; once in the morning, then again at night!

My favorite toner is Dickinson’s Witch Hazel with Rose Water and Organic Aloe, but honestly, all witch hazels work pretty much the same in my opinion- I just really love the smell of the Dickinson’s toner! Thayers brand is also really great! Thayers Witch Hazel with Cucumber and Aloe Vera is another good option.

Key takeaway, using witch hazel as a facial toner can be an affordable and effective way to improve the overall health and appearance of your skin!
