DIY Candle: Turned a thrift store find into a candle!
I love going to thrift stores! I found this brass ashtray yesterday and wasn’t really sure what I was going to use it for but decided to buy it anyways! I thought a tealight candle might look nice, then decided I was going to try creating a whole new candle instead!
I took the wick clip from an old candle and hot glued it to the ashtray. The wick is from an old candle as well!
I broke up old, tapered candles that I had, added them to a glass measuring cup, then placed the cup in a pot of boiling water.

I had dried botanicals from Afloral, so I cut the tips off of a few of them to mix into the melted wax.
I then poured the melted wax into the ashtray. I taped the wick up, so the wax didn’t weigh it down.
I let the wax dry overnight.
This was the first time I had tried this! I think maybe I should have used less botanicals…and maybe a clear wax instead of this white. But oh well!
